7 Sunday Sticking Cupboard Sneak Peaks - Day 4

Every Sunday over 7 weeks I have been sharing a sneak peak into my craft cupboard which we have named the sticking cupboard. I hope you enjoy discovering the different craft resources we store and how we use them.

Day 4 of 7 Sunday Sticking cupboard Sneak Peaks - Tissue paper, different types of glue, glitter and jars.

1. Tissue paper - Collected from gift packaging.

There are so many ways you can use coloured tissue paper in different crafts such as to make flower pom poms, butterflies or collage jam jars to hold tea light candles making a beautiful coloured light effect.

2. Different types of glue - PVA glue, glue sticks, glitter glue, paper mache glue, decoupage glue and shaving foam can all be easily found at most craft shops or supermarkets.

PVA glue is so useful for sticking different textured material together especially as it dry's clear and holds for long periods of time. Glue sticks are a pencil case essential and are perfect for neatly gluing paper together as it is not to wet and dry's smoothly. Decoupage glue is perfect for giving art work a clear glossy finish, sealing things such as collages or rock painting and its perfect for layering and securing different materials. Paper mache glue is actually wall paper paste and its the perfect consistency to make paper mache. Glitter glue is fun to add sparkle to paintings and sticking crafts. Shaving foam is perfect for sensory play and exploring textures, take a look at my mess free sensory table blog for more ideas - Mess Free Sensory Table

3. Glitter - Glitter glue, glitter, glitter confetti and sequins can be found at most craft stores.

Glitter is great fun for adding sparkle to cards, pictures and crafts. Glitter glue pens are fantastic for fine motor skill control, giving children the freedom to draw out shapes and pictures using the glitter glue. Glitter confetti is perfect for a mess free glitter alternative as the bigger pieces are easier to control where as glitter normally gets everywhere and can be difficult to control and clear away. Sequins are super fun for adding a little detail to crafts.

4. Jars - Wash up and save small jam jars and baby food jars.

Jars provide endless creative opportunities to be transformed into tea light candle holders which can make cute gifts, they can store craft resources such as beads and they can make perfect sized water pots for a painting activity.
