Fork Painting Easter Chick

This is such a lovely spring themed craft for everyone to join in with!

All you need:

  • Yellow paint
  • Felt tip pen
  • Paper
  • Fork
Simply dip a fork in to the yellow paint and dab the fork on to the paper in a circle to create a fluffy chick. This is a lovely way to explore mark making and painting with different resources.

Look at the different pattern and effect that the fork makes and how it is different to a paint brush. Build up the painted circle until it looks full and fluffy ready to turn in to a chick.

Leave the paint to dry before using a felt tip pen to add cute facial features such as eyes, legs and a beak for bring your Easter chick to life. To extend you could add googly eyes or stick the painted chick to an Easter card for a friend.

Maybe you could use this fork mark making technique to paint different animals such as a lion - Lion Mark Making
